For students and scholars

We are investing approximately $7.0 million per annum in fellowships for students and scholars undertaking science and technology research.

We invest in this area through:

• The Postdoctoral Fellowships Scheme provides scholarships for top New Zealand doctoral graduates to undertake science and technology research in New Zealand and overseas
  Salk Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity 2008. An opportunity for a partnership with the Salk Institute in San Diego allowing New Zealanders to take up a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute has been identified. The Foundation? will administer the fellowship with support from the Health Research Council (HRC).
  The Fellowship is aligned with the Salk Institute’s major areas of study:
  
  • molecular biology and genetics
  • neurosciences
  • plant biology.

• Te Tipu Pūtaiao Fellowships (TTP) support students to develop their science and Māori knowledge research capability.
• Technology for Industry Fellowships (TIF Education), enables students and experienced researchers to complete research and development projects in companies.
• The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) supports postdoctural research in Japan.
